In which cases does assisted hatching work well?

Normally, assisted hatching or assisted hatching is not performed in all patients who resort to in vitro fertilization (IVF) to have a baby. However, this complementary technique is especially indicated in those cases of patients who have undergone previous IVF cycles, but have not achieved good results or have had implantation failures.

Another indication for assisted hatching of embryos is poor egg quality. Therefore, this technique is usually recommended for women over 40 years of age who want to attempt IVF with their own eggs. In these cases, assisted hatching offers an improvement in the pregnancy rate, as it helps the blastocyst to leave the zona pellucida and facilitate implantation.
