Changes in the baby in the 29th week of pregnancy

Like the mother, babies are also changing throughout pregnancy as they develop.

The main changes in the baby that characterise the 29th week of pregnancy are as follows:

  • Gum formation.
  • Opening of the eyelids and movement of the eyes, although they cannot see.
  • Stiffening of the skeleton.
  • Testicular descent.
  • Pink colouring of the skin.

In addition to these changes, the amount of vernix increases and the development of the immune system continues.
