Oocyte denudation consist of removing the cells of the cumulus that surround the ovum after follicular puncture and before ICSI.
Denudation has two steps: first, the enzyme hyaluronidase is added to the egg culture medium to break the bonds of the granulose cells. Mechanical denudation is then performed with the help of pipettes of different calibres. In this way, the cells of the cumulus attached to the egg are completely detached.
