Adenomyosis or internal endometriosis can cause problems in achieving pregnancy. Some of the consequences of adenomyosis on fertility are shown in the image.
For example, a higher incidence of implantation failure and miscarriage has been seen in women with adenomyosis. In addition, there are theories that adenomyosis causes difficulty in gamete transport, so fertilization would not occur.
