There are several studies that indicate that pregnancies in women over 35 years of age may carry a higher risk of gestational problems. For example, older women who become pregnant are at greater risk of having low birth weight babies or even twin pregnancies.
Other risks associated with advanced maternal age are chromosomopathies or malformations in the foetus. In both cases, there is a risk of miscarriage.
