Alcohol is able to cross the placenta and reach the foetus, causing Fetal Alcohol Syndrome (FAS).
Apart from this, alcohol consumption during pregnancy may also cause:
- Developmental delay.
- Birth defects.
- Low birth weight.
- Cranial malformations.
- Premature birth.
- Miscarriages.
