An altered sperm morphology above normal values (teratozoospermia) can make it difficult to achieve gestation. Therefore, especially in cases of severe teratozoospermia, the male may have to resort to assisted reproduction treatments.
In milder cases, the male can improve his habits by quitting smoking, avoiding alcohol and taking care of his diet, which could improve the shape of the spermatozoa. In addition, there are antioxidant food supplements that could improve sperm quality, although their results have not yet been scientifically proven in a robust manner.
