The main risk of performing the transfer at the blastocyst stage (day 5-6) is that not all embryos reach this stage of development, since only those that are of good quality are capable of doing so.
Therefore, it may be that although we obtain a good number of eggs (day 0), there are none capable of reaching day 5 or 6 of development.
