Sperm motility can be altered due to various factors, which can lead to asthenozoospermia in the male.
There are immunological causes for asthenozoospermia such as the presence of antisperm antibodies, but alterations in sperm motility can also be caused by chemotherapy and radiotherapy treatments, drug, alcohol or tobacco consumption, etc. However, all the possible etiological agents of asthenozoospermia have not been clearly defined.
