Asthenozoospermia refers to problems in sperm motility. However, there can be different degrees or types of asthenozoospermia, depending on the percentage of immotile sperm present in the ejaculated semen sample.
In general, asthenozoospermia will be mild or moderate if the percentage of immotile spermatozoa is between 60-75%. However, severe or severe asthenozoospermia will be considered when this percentage is higher than 75%.
