Is portering also beneficial for the carrier?

Carrying has many benefits for the baby, but it is also beneficial for the carrier. Among the benefits we can mention for the person who carries are:

  • It promotes freedom of movement.
  • It promotes greater bonding and secure attachment.
  • It helps to recognise what the baby wants and to attend to their needs at the slightest sign.
  • It reduces postpartum depression.

In addition, babywearing can help the carrier's back muscles if it is done ergonomically and with an approved baby carrier.
