A pregnant woman who has spotting or bleeding should always inform the specialist who is managing her pregnancy. However, if the bleeding is abundant or presents with symptoms such as pain or dizziness, the woman should go to the hospital immediately.
On the other hand, it can be very useful for the woman to write down the characteristics of the bleeding in terms of duration, intensity, color, etc., as this will be of great help to the specialist when it comes to finding out what caused it.
Finally, it is important that the woman avoids sexual intercourse and the use of tampons while she is bleeding.
