Although blood pregnancy tests offer a more accurate result, as they report the amount of beta hCG hormone, a woman may choose to take a urine pregnancy test. This is a much simpler test, as it can be performed at home.
However, the sensitivity of urine pregnancy tests is lower than that of blood tests and, in addition, their result is only qualitative. Therefore, doing a urine pregnancy test will only show whether the woman is pregnant or not, but it will not be possible to determine how many weeks pregnant she is.
