The causes that lead to the medical decision to perform a cesarean section at the time of delivery can be of maternal or fetal origin.
For example, in the case of the mother, some of the indications for cesarean section are the following:
- Risk of transmission of infectious diseases
- Diabetes or hypertension that can make natural childbirth difficult
- Insufficient dilation of the cervix during labor
