Diagnosis of cryptorchidism by ultrasound and magnetic resonance imaging

In cases where the undescended testicle cannot be located by palpation, imaging techniques may be performed to locate it:

  • The ultrasound allows to visualize the testicles that are in the inguino-scrotal path.
  • To locate the intra-abdominal testicles, the best technique will be magnetic resonance imaging.

If it is not possible to know where they are using these techniques, it may be necessary to resort to laparoscopy.
