Oxidative stress is an imbalance between the level of reactive oxygen species (ROS) and antioxidants. This has been associated with male infertility, as oxidative stress would damage the sperm membrane and may affect the integrity of sperm DNA.
However, oxidative stress has also been linked to recurrent miscarriage. Males with a history of recurrent miscarriage have higher seminal ROS and sperm DNA fragmentation.
