The main advantage of egg vitrification is that it allows the preservation of female fertility, both for women who decide to delay motherhood and for women who are going to undergo a medical treatment that will affect their fertility.
In addition, having the vitrified eggs available increases the chances of success when the woman wants to become a mother at an advanced age, since the oocytes are the same age as the woman was at the time of vitrification.
Finally, vitrification of oocytes is also useful for the management of patients who are poor responders to stimulation in in vitro fertilization (IVF) cycles, since it makes it possible to accumulate oocytes after several ovarian stimulations.
