The embryos are observed during the culture time in the laboratory in order to classify them according to their quality. For this, different parameters established by ASEBIR are taken into account:
- Number of cells or blastomeres and rate of division.
- Percentage and type of cell fragmentation.
- Visualisation of nuclei and multinucleation (more than one nucleus per cell).
- Presence of cytoplasmic halo or vacuoles in the cytoplasm.
- Zona pellucida (ZP).
In addition, the symmetry of the blastomeres and the degree of cellular compactness are also taken into account.
