Embryo vitrification is a technique that allows embryos to be cryopreserved at low temperature for an indefinite period of time. This technique is highly developed and does not affect embryo survival.
The vitrified embryos are stored in liquid nitrogen tanks at -196 degrees Celsius. In this way, when the vitrified embryos are to be used, they are thawed following a rigorous technique and transferred to the woman's uterus.
