The diagnosis of hyperplasia is very important, since it could evolve into cancer. Therefore, in the event of any menstrual alteration, it is advisable to visit a gynecologist, who will be in charge of performing a vaginal ultrasound to measure the thickness of the endometrium.
If the size of the endometrium is too thick, the specialist will request an endometrial biopsy to perform a histological study of the endometrial cells. In addition, endometrial biopsy can be performed in combination with hysteroscopy.
