Transvaginal ultrasound to detect chocolate cysts

Endometriomas, also known as chocolate cysts, are cysts that appear mainly in women with severe endometriosis. These cysts can be detected by transvaginal ultrasound, by introducing an ultrasound probe through the vagina.

For this reason, transvaginal ultrasound helps in the diagnosis of endometriosis. However, this ultrasound test will not clearly show endometrial adhesions.
