The presence of endometrial tissue outside the uterus, that is, having endometriosis, can affect a woman's reproductive capacity.
Normally, women diagnosed with endometriosis have low ovarian reserve. In addition, their fallopian tubes are altered, which makes it difficult for the egg and sperm to meet in order for fertilization to take place and, therefore, for pregnancy to occur.
For this reason, it is often necessary to resort to assisted reproduction to try to fulfill the desire to become a mother when endometriosis is present.
