Laparoscopy is one of the most widely used endoscopic surgery procedures for the treatment of conditions in the ovaries and uterus, but it can also have a diagnostic purpose.
This test involves inserting a laparoscope attached to a camera through a small incision in the navel. In this way, the inside of the abdomen, the uterus, the fallopian tubes and the ovaries can be visualized.
Laparoscopy, like any surgery, can cause complications, but they are rare. It is a fairly safe technique and provides reliable results.
