A woman's fertility begins when all her sexual organs, primary and secondary, are functioning properly.
When a woman reaches 11-12 years of age, her secondary sexual characteristics develop. At this time, breast growth begins and the pelvis begins to prepare for childbirth. In addition, the female begins to detect the appearance of hair and menstruation begins.
The first menstrual periods may be irregular until the body regulates itself. The normal menstrual cycle would be 28 days and ovulation would occur around day 14 of the cycle. This time would be the most fertile period for the woman.
