Abortion risks and side effects

Although the risks associated with abortions vary depending on the gestational age and the type of abortion performed, some of the most common ones include:

  • Damage to one or various areas of the female reproductive tract
  • Vaginal bleeding
  • Genital tract infections
  • Damage to the cervix
  • Uterine rupture
  • Uterine perforation
  • Abdominal abscess. If untreated, it can lead to Pelvic Inflammatory (PID)
