Although the risks associated with abortions vary depending on the gestational age and the type of abortion performed, some of the most common ones include:
- Damage to one or various areas of the female reproductive tract
- Vaginal bleeding
- Genital tract infections
- Damage to the cervix
- Uterine rupture
- Uterine perforation
- Abdominal abscess. If untreated, it can lead to Pelvic Inflammatory (PID)
