All pregnant women can have a non-invasive prenatal test to make sure their baby is genetically healthy. However, this type of prenatal testing is especially recommended in the following situations:
- High risk in first trimester screening.
- History of pregnancies with anomalies.
- Progenitors with altered karyotypes.
- Suspicious ultrasound findings.
Thanks to the study of fetal DNA in maternal blood it is possible to reduce at least 90% of unnecessary amniocentesis
