    Hi there,

I’m from Alabama, 27 years old, and currently thinking about becoming an egg donor. I’m interested in Alabama Fertility, it’s near me and their profile looks trustworthy and professional. Does anyone know this clinic? Any former egg donors here or anyone currently in the egg donation procedure? I would love to exchange.

  2. Hi Chipmunk,

at first, you have to pass the screening process until you’ll get accepted. They are very strict, only the healthiest donors will be selected. I was one of them. It’s an exhausting process because you have to travel a lot to the fertility clinic, get your screening, take your medications, then the retrieval process… The worst part of being an egg donor is the side effects of the hormonal medication. You feel bloated, sick, irritated, etc.. but well, in the end, they compensate you and you can help a couple achieve their dream 😉

Keep us posted how it went!

    • What do you understand of “healthy”? To which extent are they strict in the selection process? Will I be discarded for only having asthma? Or does it refer to more serious diseases? Apart from asthma, I’m perfectly fine.

    • Hi Chipmunk,

before the egg donation process, every candidate must be psychologically, genetically, and medically pre-screened. As already mentioned by Jamie, the screenings are very strict and only healthy candidates will be chosen as egg donors.

This means that you possibly could be discarded from donating eggs due to your pre-existing health condition. For more information about the requirements for egg donor candidates, read on here: How do I become an egg donor?

Hope I could answer your question,

      all the best.

  3. I’m also thinking about becoming an egg donor. I’m from Alabama and looking for some suggestions. I would like to visit at least three fertility clinics in this region and then select the one that I feel most comfortable with. Where can I get a quick overview of clinics here?

  4. Hi Liza,

Becoming an egg donor is a very responsible role and can be physically and emotionally exhausting. Therefore, it is vital that you feel comfortable at the clinic you’re donating your eggs to. For this reason, we from inviTRA recommend you visit at least two or more clinics in order to compare your impression of each one. Here you have an overview of fertility clinics in your area: Fertility centers in Alabama.

    Good luck!
