Epidural, yay or nay?

Hello ladies, I'm 34 weeks pregnant now and ready to have my baby :) and I've decided I'm trying without epidural. My best friend is a doula and she has 3 children. She did one delivery with epidural and 2 without. She says she would never use it again and so says another mom I talked to as well. According to them, they messed up and she couldn't feel anything for 3 days or longer, nor even walk.
