Gifting our donor embryos left over to someone

Hi there, we’ve got some donor embryos left over, and have considered gifting them to someone rather than giving them back to the clinic and refreeze them and put them back in the pool. My clinic’s staff say we can do it but there are lots of legalities involved, and it can become very costly. Just wondering if anyone has done this, and what are the approximate costs of having contracts made up… TIA 🙂

Embryo donation should not cost the donors anything, as it is a donation. Even if they are already donor embryos for you, donating them again shouldn’t cost you nothing. The legalities and costs involved should be to the receiving family.

However, in some cases, the only costs for the donor are notary fees or legal fees if you want your legal team to do consult or paperwork. My advice is that you ask your clinic or legal team for further assistance.
