In vitro fertilization (IVF) can be divided into two major phases:
- The first one includes ovarian stimulation and egg retrieval.
- The second includes endometrial preparation and embryo transfer. The ultimate goal is that embryo implantation occurs and a new pregnancy starts.
In the case of a FET, only step 2 is performed.
