Performing a genetic compatibility test will allow future parents to know the probability of their children suffering from a monogenic disease caused by a recessive gene and be able to avoid it.
This analysis can be carried out by all couples who wish to do so, whether or not they have problems when it comes to conceiving. However, the most common is to do it in the following cases:
- Family history of a genetic disease
- Before an assisted reproduction treatment
- Before a gametes donation treatment
- Closely related couples
