Haemophilia is an inherited disease caused by a clotting disorder, which is why people with this condition often bleed a lot. In addition, it is often quite difficult to stop bleeding after an injury or medical procedure.
Depending on the amount of clotting factor present in the blood, there are three degrees of haemophilia. Firstly, mild haemophilia is when there is between 5 and 40% clotting factor, while severe haemophilia is when there is less than 1% clotting factor in the blood.
