Laws on Assisted Human Reproduction Techniques are in charge of regulating the gamete donation process. Such law generally establish the requirements that a woman must meet in order to be able to donate eggs:
- Be of legal age.
- Be in good psychophysical condition.
- Not having genetic, hereditary or infectious diseases transmissible to the offspring.
Thus, before being accepted as a donor, a woman must pass a series of medical and psychological tests to ensure that she meets the aforementioned conditions.
