There are some risk factors for hypothyroidism, although it is a pathology that can affect anyone, whether female or male, and at any age. However, the probability of suffering from hypothyroidism increases in people who show:
- Hashimoto's disease, an autoimmune disease.
- Genetic disorders.
- Administration of certain drugs.
- After the birth.
This does not mean that anyone in these situations will develop hypothyroidism.
