Although many people tend to confuse the terms sterility and infertility, and at the same time, infertility and subfertility, the truth is, their meaning is not the same:
- Sterility
- Fertilization, that is to say, the fusion between the egg and the sperm cannot take place.
- Infertility
- Fertilization occurs, but a full-term pregnancy is not possible.
- Subfertility
- Fertilization and a full-term pregnancy can occur, but with more difficulty.
