There are several tests that can be done during pregnancy to assess whether the fetus has any abnormalities.
On the one hand, there is the maternal blood DNA test. This is a non-invasive test that is performed on a sample of the mother's blood.
On the other hand, there are chorionic villus sampling and amniocentesis. Both tests are invasive and should be done at the appropriate week of gestation.
