Homologous or conjugal insemination is the one in which the male partner's sperm is used to perform artificial insemination. In this way, the male can have a biological child.
For this purpose, a mild ovarian stimulation is performed in the woman. This phase usually lasts about 8-10 days. The man then delivers a semen sample to the clinic, where it is processed with sperm capacitation techniques. Finally, artificial insemination is performed with the introduction of a cannula with the sperm into the woman's uterus.
