Hematoma inside the uterus during pregnancy

Intrauterine hematomas or interdeciduotrophoblastic hematomas are blood clots that accumulate between the placenta and the endometrium or inner layer of the uterus. Most of the time, intrauterine hematomas are reabsorbed without any complications. However, there are some cases in which it leads to miscarriage.

There are several types of intrauterine hematomas depending on their location. For example, retroplacental intrauterine hematomas are those that appear between the placenta and the endometrium.
