Role of LH in spermatogenesis

In men, the hormone LH secreted by the pituitary gland is responsible for stimulating the production of androgens in the Leydig cells of the testes. In turn, the secreted testosterone stimulates sperm production until, as the levels of this hormone rise considerably, a signal is sent to the brain to stop producing more LH.

In this way, both processes of steroidogenesis and spermatogenesis are perfectly regulated.
