Orchitis is a testicular condition that causes an inflammation in the testicles. It may be due to trauma, bacterial infections, or viruses.
It causes temporary male infertility. The treatment options include anti-inflammatory drugs and antibiotics. In most cases, it disappears without further complications. However, viral infections may need further supervision. For instance, mumps can lead to testicular atrofia and severely compromise spermatogenesis.
