A molar pregnancy is a gestational trophoblastic disease and is therefore not a viable pregnancy. Therefore, it is essential to establish good treatment at the time the mole is diagnosed.
In some cases, only a curettage will be necessary. In other cases, however, the uterus must be removed or even chemotherapy is necessary. In addition, it is vitally important to monitor hCG hormone levels.
