In an in vitro fertilization treatment, there is a tendency to transfer more than one embryo to increase the probability of success, also increasing the probability of twin pregnancies.
However, this trend is changing and double transfers are increasingly avoided, giving way to transfers of a single embryo but with greater implantation potential.
