Cesarean section has more disadvantages than vaginal delivery, especially during the postpartum period, as recovery is slower and more painful. The surgical intervention involved in cesarean section also carries a risk of infections or other complications.
In addition, the woman cannot be accompanied by her partner at the time of delivery or by another companion. Finally, due to the discomfort and lack of the hormone oxytocin secreted during natural childbirth, breastfeeding may be difficult.
