The causes of oligohydramnios (decreased amniotic fluid) are several. We comment on them below:
- Post-term pregnancy
- Alterations in the placenta
- Multiple pregnancy
- Premature rupture of the membranes (PROM)
- Maternal problems such as pre-eclampsia or diabetes
- Fetal alterations
- Some medications
