What is Ovulation Induction?

46

Ovulation induction consists of administering hormones to stimulate the development of a few eggs in women who, normally, are not ovulating. The main difference with ovarian stimulation is that there is no development of multiple follicles.

During this ovulation induction treatment, the patient will receive drugs containing FSH and LH hormones. These hormones promote the growth of 1-2 follicles, the structure inside which the egg is located.

Therefore, ovulation induction is recommended for women with polycystic ovary syndrome (PCOS) and ovulation problems. In addition, this treatment is also useful in cases of sterility of unknown cause.
