Measurement of hormonal levels in blood is a key test to detect potential gynecological problems in women. In the case of PCOS, the specialist will pay special attention to the androgen levels in blood. If they appear too elevated, they might interfere with the levels of other hormones responsible of follicle growth and development. This prevents ovulation, a common symptom of PCOS.
