Prenatal Pilates classes are Pilates classes adapted to pregnancy so that the exercises are beneficial and safe during pregnancy, as some exercises would not be recommended during pregnancy.
Pilates requires great concentration and works on body awareness, as the exercises are performed in a controlled manner and breathing control must also be taken into account. Thus, it is a good workout for body and mind.
However, before starting Pilates classes for pregnant women, a specialist should be consulted in case of any contraindications, even if Pilates has already been practised prior to pregnancy.
