A vasectomy is said to have been effective when the sperm count in the ejaculate is zero or less than 100,000 spermatozoa 3 months after the intervention. If after some time there are still spermatozoa in the ejaculate, then it will be necessary to redo the vasectomy and repeat the control semen analysis to confirm the success.
