When a woman who has cancer undergoes oncological treatment, by radiotherapy or chemotherapy, several alterations will be produced in her organism that will generate problems in her fertility. Among these alterations are:
- Premature ovarian insufficiency and amenorrhea.
- Damage to the genetic material of the eggs.
- Alterations in the fallopian tubes.
For this reason, it is very important that oncologists inform the patient of the effects that oncological treatments have on her organism and on her fertility.
