When performing an artificial insemination (AI) cycle, there may be certain complications associated with pregnancy. These include miscarriage, multiple pregnancy and ectopic pregnancy.
Ectopic pregnancy is a pregnancy in which the implantation of the embryo has occurred outside the uterus, for example, in the fallopian tubes. This type of pregnancy also occurs naturally, but the likelihood of ectopic pregnancy seems to be increased after AI.
